Choose 'From start' or 'From end' to specify the location from which the offset will be examined. Choose whether the string offset is = (equal to), ≥ (greater than or equal to), or ≤ (less than or equal to) some offset or is Any offset. SAM searches for string at the specified offset location. Choose the type of string that SAM Virus Clinic in the field on the right. Choose whether the resource size is = (equal to), ≥ (greater than or equal to), or ≤ (less than or equal to) the size that will be in the field on the right. Choose '=' if the ID is equal to the resource ID that will be in the field on the right. Choose 'Any' to include all resource IDs in the search. 'Check' displays the check number assigned to this search description. The check number is provided with the other virus definition parameters to validate the description fields. 'Search Description' describes the characteristics of specific viral resource. When SAM detects this resource in a file, it indicates that the virus has infected the file. 'Add Virus Definition (Resource)' lets you add a new virus definition that causes SAM to search resource forks for a new virus. 'String offset' specifies the location of the search string in the viral resource where SAM Virus Clinic will search. 'Search string' specifies the string, either ASCII or hexadecimal, used to identify the viral resource. Type the search string in the text box. 'Resource size' defines the size of the viral resource for which SAM searches for this virus. 'Resource ID' provides the resource ID number of the viral resource for which SAM searches for this virus. 'Resource type' defines the type of viral resource for which SAM must search for this virus. 'Virus name' displays the name of the new virus definition. Type the virus name first before completing the rest of the definition. Displays the current search description number. '>' moves up one through the search descriptions. '-' deletes the current search description. '<' moves down one through the search descriptions. Click Cancel to remove any changes you made during this session in the Add Virus Definition (Resource) dialog box and close this dialog box. Click Add when you have finished typing the virus definition to select the SAM User Definitions file and add the virus definition to that file.
